Sunshine Stamper

I am playing along with the March 2025 inspiration challenge from #Altenew and the challenge this month is to create a card with a specific color palette.

I find using color palettes in a challenge quite, well challenging, because I have a tendency to take the colors shown quite literally. I am trying to get more comfortable with using different shades of the colors shown, but it takes me a bit to stretch out of my comfort zone.

I will likely create a few more as the month goes on, but here is my first challenge entry:

I am no colorist, but I am on a journey to learn more about color, color families and blending. The inspiration pink looked a bit salmon-like to me so I tried to pick a pink from my inks that had that tone to it.

The green looked like a juniper to me, but I wasn’t sure which Altenew ink was closest in color to it, so I looked at my swatch sheets and tried to pick something that looked close- keeping in mind that the colors on the computer monitor always look different from colors on paper.

I also find the placement of bling a little challenging. I try to follow the odd number rule, but often I feel like my bling is just floating around on my project. I have challenged myself to use up my bling stash so I get more comfortable with using it and find styles I like more.
