Simon Says Stamp | Handmade Card Inspiration
There’s something extra magical about winter crafting- the soft blues, snuggly textures, and all the whimsical creatures that only seem to show up when the weather gets frosty. Today on the blog, I’m sharing a sweet and snuggly winter card featuring the Get Yeti stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. If you’re a fan of adorable characters and chilly-weather charm, this little guy will completely melt your heart!

❄️ Crafting the Look
This card began with one very fluffy, very charming little yeti. I stamped him on white cardstock and colored him in soft aqua tones to give him that “fresh from the snowstorm” glow. His little turquoise hands and toes add just the right pop of personality, like he’s been out building frosty snowballs all morning.
To ground the yeti in his snowy world, I created a triple-panel background using winter-themed patterned papers. The combination of icy blues, charcoal greys, falling snowflakes, and tiny pine trees brings all the cozy winter cabin feelings. I especially love how the center panel draws your eye right to the yeti, almost like he’s stepping out of his forest hideaway just to say hello.
🧵 Layered Details
You know I love a good bit of layering, and this card has just the right amount:
- A crisp aqua matting layer frames the design and brings out the yeti’s coloring.
- Two coordinating patterned papers flank the center column, creating a subtle patchwork look.
- A strip of winter plaid sits across the bottom, because no winter card is complete without a little flannel moment.
- The sentiment, Winter Greetings, is stamped bold and clean, tying everything together.
Everything is popped up on foam tape for that soft, dimensional feel that makes handmade cards so special.
🧣 The Finished Card
This yeti feels like the friendly guardian of winter: warm, fuzzy, and ready to deliver snowy smiles. Whether you’re sending this card as a holiday hello, a seasonal note, or a “thinking of you,” it’s one of those designs that works beautifully all winter long.
And the best part? The Get Yeti stamp set is full of even more characters and pun-y sentiments. So you can build a whole collection of winter creature cards for the season!
