Have you ever wondered whether a press plate could deliver beautiful results without specialty paper or a fancy setup? I put that question to the test with the Altenew Making Moments Press Plate, and I am here to tell you that your everyday supplies are more than enough.
For the background panel on this 5×7 card, I applied four different Fresh Dye Inks directly to the press plate before running it through my machine. I used Orange Cream from the Warm & Cozy Fresh Dye Ink family, Pinkalicious from the Cherry Blossom Fresh Dye Ink family, Starlight from the Deep Blue Seas Fresh Dye Ink family, and Midnight Violet from the Shades of Purple Fresh Dye Ink family. The result is that soft, rainbow-washed script background you see behind all those gorgeous flowers, and it came together on regular cardstock. No special surfaces required.
The flowers are built up using the Craft Your Life Project Kit: The Drawing Room Stencil Set (4 in 1). I layered the stencils to get that dimensional, painterly look, and the sentiment stamps from the same kit were the perfect finishing touch, with “friend” in bold black and “Thank you for making my day!” on that crisp dark banner underneath.
