Same Card, Different Colorway: Blushberry Bliss Fresh Dye Ink Family

Can you believe this is the same card I made yesterday? It is, just in a completely different colorway. Same stencils, same stamp set, same basic structure. Swap the ink family and change out the shimmer paste, and suddenly you have something that looks like an entirely new design. That shift never gets old for me.

Today’s card uses the Altenew Blushberry Bliss Fresh Dye Ink Family (Strawberry, Dusty Pink, Blush Rose, and Raspberry Sunset) paired with Rose Gold Shimmer Relief Paste on acetate. The result is warmer, softer, and more romantic than yesterday’s version. Same bones, completely different personality.

The Magic of Colorway Swaps

If you ever feel like you need to buy new products to make new cards, I want to challenge that idea. Your stencils and stamp sets can do a lot more work than one colorway. The Altenew Leafscape Stamp Set and the Petal Pop Stencil are the exact same ones from yesterday’s card. Warm pinks versus cool neutrals, and both are completely distinct. The ink family does most of the heavy lifting when it comes to the overall mood of a card.

The Blushberry Bliss family layers beautifully because the shades are designed to work together, light to dark, with enough contrast to give the flowers real depth without any blending frustration. If you’re newer to ink blending with dye inks, this family is a great starting point because the colors genuinely cooperate with each other.

The Acetate and Shimmer Paste Combo

This is the layer that makes people stop and look twice. The Luxe Lattice Stencil was used with Rose Gold Shimmer Relief Paste applied directly onto acetate. Once it dries, you get a raised, metallic, textured layer that sits on top of the card and catches the light as the card moves. The shimmer is beautiful without being overdone. It feels elevated rather than crafty-glitter, which is exactly what I was going for.

The acetate is a big part of why this works so well. Because it’s transparent, the shimmer paste pattern floats visually over the flowers underneath rather than covering them. You get dimension and shimmer and the floral design all at once, and none of them compete with each other.

Hidden Foam Tape and Real Depth

Here’s the detail that makes this card feel different when you hold it. The flowers are raised off the card base with foam tape, but the tape is completely hidden behind the die-cut floral layer. You can’t see it at all. You can only notice the dimension when you look at the card from an angle and see how much shadow it casts. That hidden lift is what gives this design such interesting depth and visual movement, and it’s one of those small technique choices that makes a big difference in the finished result.

I used the Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape (1/4″) for this. It’s narrow enough to tuck behind shaped layers without showing, and the hold is solid. I reach for this one constantly.
